“The wind dying down, to cease, stop, fall silent.”
🌿 First Relief
A quiet beginning. A sacred shift.
🕯 Theme
“This is not a threat.”
You may feel overwhelmed, skeptical, exhausted. That’s okay.
Today is not about fixing anything.
It’s about giving your nervous system a message it forgot:
You are safe.
This sound is not danger.
This is not an emergency.
🌿 Mini Practice: The Sound of Safety
Sit or lie down in stillness.
Let your hands be open.
Let your breath soften.
Let the sound be exactly what it is.
When your attention goes to the sound — don’t resist it.
Don’t label it. Don’t try to change it.
Instead, know this silently:
“This sound is not a threat.”
“This is my brain trying to help me.”
Let your body feel the truth of calm.
🕊️ Key Insight
This is a false signal.
Your brain is doing what it thinks is best — protecting you.
But it made a mistake.
While in this awareness, follow the sound if it starts changing.
It may start to flicker, or dip. Hold gentle attention on it.
If you persist in doing both these things, it could go away, at least for a while.
Your brain learned to check, then re-check, then listen...
until the sound became a loop.
But loops can be unlearned.
Today begins that unlearning.
🕯 Mantra
“This is not dangerous. I’m not broken. I am safe.”
Say it gently. With breath. With space between words.
Say it as many times as you need. It doesn’t need to be believed. Only spoken.
🌞 If You Notice...
- A moment of stillness
- A softening around the sound
- A feeling of distance between you and it
- A feeling of “this is bearable”
...then today has already worked.
Even if it comes back. Even if it’s loud.
You noticed the shift. That’s what matters.
🛑 Don’t Push
Don’t try to “make it go away.” That activates the loop.
Today is not a cure.
Today is a crack in the surface.
Tomorrow, we go deeper.
